Meet A Houston Mom – Meet Natalie Thomas
We love to explore this city – the foodie scene in Houston is amazing and we love finding new spots to try and most of the restaurants are kid-friendly, might I add! Another thing about Houston is the sense of community, without the community of women I’ve built around me, I don’t think I’d still be sane! No one’s there to help quicker than another fellow mama and I’ve found such a solid base of women in Houston, always there to encourage me, build me up, and offer help when needed.
Meet A Houston Mom – Meet Rita
One thing that has been great about living in Houston is that there is a definite sense of community; for such a big city, it feels very local. As a small business owner, local word of mouth is critical to my business, so I rely on this community 100% to help grow my business.

Meet Donae: The Vintage Contessa
I am originally from Houston and I’ve lived here almost my entire life. I was raised by my Italian father and Irish mother. Their roots really influenced who I am today. I grew up with a passion for fashion and have always loved luxury, Italian designers. I’ve been in the luxury retail business for over twenty years. My family and friends coined me as “The Vintage Contessa” because of my absolute love for luxury fashion and vintage pieces.

Growing up and living in Houston has been amazing – I have been able to see it grow and develop into the awesome city that we all get to experience daily. Meet a Houston Mom – Meet Uyen
Living inside the loop has provided me with opportunities that I wouldn’t have if I lived in the ‘burbs. Being close to the Medical Center, the Museum District, the Galleria, and downtown reduces my time on the road, gives me more time to spend with family and friends, gives me more opportunities to attend events/functions that have helped me grow my personal life and career.
Meet Kasteena
When I was pregnant with my first child, I decided to leave my corporate job as a Human Resources Director – I studied for my Real Estate license while on maternity leave! My husband and I were already in West U, and friends and neighbors, including my boss from my corporate job, helped me get started in the industry. I have been a residential Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Metropolitan since 2006 and am unique from the majority of other agents in that I offer extensive pre-listing services that I implement into the homes that I sell. I also have a personal 24/7 concierge service for all my clients who have bought or sold a home! Read More….
Meet A Houston Mom – Meet Lauren
I feel like I came into my own as a mom after we moved to West U 5 years ago! Largely because of my tribe, my village, my mom-friends. They encourage me, they allow me to be myself and we are 100% there for each other. Add in the amazing schools that my kids go to with teachers who genuinely love and care for my little ones (WUES & St Paul’s School) and I feel like I am able to be a full-time mom and a full-time photographer all at once.
Meet Sofia
I moved to Houston in 2000 to attend the University of Houston. and received my bachelors in Communication Disorders and Psychology. I then went to TCU for my Masters in Speech-Language Pathology and came back to Houston to marry my college sweetheart and begin my career. This community has provided so many opportunities being close to the Texas Medical Center and wonderful schools. The parents and schools that we work with in our Rice Village clinic are simply amazing. I am fortunate to live and work in this family-friendly community!

This neighborhood community provides so many wonderful activities, parks, resources, and neighbors who we consider true friends! I have been the Pastry Chef at the Houstonian Hotel for 11 years after moving from California and I always tell my friends back home that Houston is the best-kept secret!
Meet a Houston Mom – Meet Megan of Magpies
Bellaire has always been home to me. My parents still live in the same house I was raised in. The Bellaire community embraced our family’s business through the 30 plus years we have been open, and the relationships that have been formed through the shop have truly blessed me and my family’s life!
Meet Katia
I’m a first generation American, born in Houston to parents of Spanish-Cuban descent. I grew up in nearby Meyerland and attended St. John’s School and Rice University, so this area of Houston has been my home for most of my life. I am so happy to live close to all these memory-filled places and to see them continue evolving through the years.
