Houston has been everything for me and my family. It believed in and supported my dream before it became a reality, and before I even believed in it myself. As if all that weren’t enough, Houston also saved my life, physically and emotionally, during Hurricane Harvey. No place has ever felt more like home to me.
I have found tons of support in the Houston community, from friends to local groups that have asked me to speak, as well as corporations that have brought me in to help their employees deal with stress. This goes to show how much these tools are needed!
I’m a writer and author of the forthcoming book Twin to Twin, which details my high-risk twin pregnancy, near-death experience, and NICU stay. I was transformed by my medical trauma and now I’m traveling around the country sharing my ‘emotional tale of empowerment’ to inspire, encourage, and help other families navigating through a similar journey.

A teacher at Torah Day School and author of Sara The Bucket Filler, Rivka moved to Houston where her husband grew up a few days after their wedding— In February it will be 20 years, making Houston the city she’s lived in for most of her life!
