Green Mountain Energy Ice returns November 11, 2022 through January 29, 2023!

Glide beneath the glittering lights of downtown Houston and discover the holiday magic on Green Mountain Energy Ice at Discovery Green!

• Skaters will be required to sign a waiver online after purchasing tickets. The E-tickets will not be sent until the waiver is completed.
• All skaters must have a pre-purchased ticket to enter the venue. (Skating guests under the age of 12 may have one parent or guardian accompany them. This person will be asked to stay in a public viewing area while the minor skates.)

Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 5-10 pm (Fridays open until 11pm)
Saturday & HISD School Holidays*: 11 am-11 pm
Sunday: 11 am – 8 pm
Thanksgiving Day: 11 am – 11 pm
Christmas & New Year’s Eve: 11 am-7 pm
Christmas & New Year’s Day: 1-7 pm
*HISD school holidays include: Nov. 21-25; Dec. 22-30; Jan. 2-6 & 16
On Dec. 18 and Jan. 15 the rink will close to the public at 5 pm. The last ticket sales are at 3:30 pm

Ticket sales support Discovery Green Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that depends on the generosity of park visitors and other friends to maintain the park and to fund free events held here every year.

The ice rink may be closed or delayed at times due to weather conditions. Call 713.434.RINK (7465) for updates and check www.discoverygreen.com for closures and other delays. Guests holding tickets will be notified via email and their tickets refunded if weather closures are necessary at their reserved times.

Green Mountain Energy Discounts
Green Mountain Energy employees and customers receive $2 discount for tickets purchased onsite. Proof of current billing or employee identification required for entry.

Bank of America Discounts
Bank of America customers and employees receive $2 discount for tickets purchased onsite. Proof of customer card, billing or employee identification required for entry.

Forever Green Members
Discovery Green members $2 discount for tickets purchased onsite. (If desired timeslot is full there may be a wait.) Proof of member card required for entry. Maximum 5 family members.

First responders & Military
First responders and military receive $2 discount for up to 5 people; must show valid I.D.; discount on tickets purchased in person only. (If desired timeslot is full there may be a wait.)

Chilling at Frostival with Big Walls, Big Dreams
Friday, November 11
6 – 10 p.m.
Discovery Green’s annual winter celebration dreams big! Enjoy a live ice carving by Reverend Butter, live mural paintings by Big Walls, Big Dreams, performances by Break Free, Cirque Mythos and more!
The first 50 people will skate for free and Forever Green Members will skate for free from 5 to 7 pm.

Skate with Santa!
Saturdays, November 19 & 26; December 3, 10 & 17
7 – 8 p.m.
Children of all ages are invited to skate with Santa Clause and embrace the holiday spirit.

Saturday Night Skate Party

Special Needs Sunday Night
Sunday, January 15
6 – 8 p.m.
Ice rink will close to the public at 5 p.m. and Houstonians using non-motorized wheelchairs, and others with special needs, are invited to enjoy Green Mountain Energy Ice in a safe environment. Wheelchair users must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The special needs skater skates for free.

Clutch City Wednesdays
Wednesdays, November 16 & 30; December 7, 14 & 21; January 11, 18 & 25
5 – 10 p.m.
Skate to music by Houston artists and wear any Houston sports team gear to receive $2 off admission.

College Student Night
Thursdays, November 17; December 1, 8 & 15; January 12, 19 & 26
5 – 10 p.m.
On select Thursdays, college students can show their current college ID to receive $2 off admission. Movies will be featured at 7 p.m.

Music Trends Through the Decades

Children of all ages are invited to skate with Storybook Stars.

Wheelchairs
If you are a non-motorized wheelchair user, you are welcome to enjoy the rink in your own wheelchair. You must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times while on the ice rink. Motorized wheelchairs are not permitted on the ice rink. Admission for the wheelchair user is free.

Ice Rink Events, a Houston-based designer, manufacturer, installer, and operator of ice rinks around the globe, transforms Kinder Lake’s model boat basin into a holiday skating destination each winter season at the park.
