We started Literacy Enrichment and Play five a half years ago. We created a play-based multi-sensory literacy curriculum. We recognize that children learn best when they are provided with multi-sensory techniques and creative play. We aim to engage
young children and build motivation and enthusiasm for learning using age-appropriate activities. We have enrichment classes, teacher trainings, a monthly subscription, and seasonal products.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Our local Houston community has helped us grow on many levels. The schools and early childhood directors have eagerly promoted our mission. Parents have embraced our programming (we have waitlists for most of our classes). It was the parents that kept asking for advice on how they could help their children at home that led to the retail side of our business. Watching our little learners thrive in our classes and with our products keeps us excited to keep creating new and innovative content.

What would you tell the old “You” before you had kids?
Wesley: Buy whatever you want for yourself and go on vacation.
Sarah: Sleep late and treat yourself!
What is your proudest mommy moment?
Wesley: You never get tired of hearing how well-mannered your child is.
Sarah: I agree. Hearing how my child has stuck up for someone else or sat with a child that was sitting alone definitely makes me proud to call them mine.
What is your favorite thing to do in the HKA area?
Wesley: My kids are such animal lovers that our favorite thing to do in Houston is go to the zoo. The zoo is so great because every trip can be different. You can just visit your favorite animal or a new exhibit.
Sarah: We are big park people! Houston has so many amazing family friendly parks, and we love exploring and discovering new
