Meet a Houston Mom - Meet Bianca Williams of Bee Bold Creative - West University Moms

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in Houston?

  • I am originally from Southern California and have lived in Houston for almost 10 years!

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

  • I have 3 children, two boys who are 5 & 6 and a daughter who is about to turn  2.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

  • Many might be surprised by the genre of music I actually enjoy listening to. Haha. It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. I bet most would even be surprised to know that I never envisioned myself to be a small business owner but dreamt of being a lawyer for as long as I could remember.

Favorite local activities to do in Houston?

  • Something you should know about me is I LOVE to eat and drink coffee. If there is a new coffee shop, count me in. A new cool food spot, you bet I will be there trying the weirdest thing on the menu! Oh, and you will definitely catch me at Main Street Crossing taking photos and enjoying some live, up-close music.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

  • I currently own a small Social Media Management and Photography business. Bee Bold Creative was born from an unwavering desire to help people by creating eye-catching content. I truly believe in helping others with the gifts I have been given but to be real with you, I fought the Lord on this for a very long time. I had no idea how I would be able to serve other small businesses or individuals with three kids of my own. I just didn’t see it possible. Yet the Lord kept placing it on my heart to use this passion to help those who needed an extra hand. Hence “Created to Create” became the motto and I am beyond blessed to do what I love for a living.

How has the Houston community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

  • Born and raised in California, the small business dynamic is MUCH different. Although I can honestly say, the desire to launch a business didn’t come to me until I moved to Houston and witnessed these small business owners start from the ground up. My first job was in a small cheesecake shop in Cypress, TX called All The Crave Cheesecakes and I had the privilege to see firsthand what it took to grow a successful company. The owner showed me hard work and dedication I have never seen before. That is one of my biggest inspirations for sure.

What is the best advice for juggling mommyhood and running a business (or volunteering, working, etc)?

  • If I had to give any type of advice it would be “Choose your kids every time.” I know it sounds crazy but when your child or children are awake and want to spend time with you, sacrifice an hour or two of sleep and fit your work in. This is still something I am learning to navigate and I pray that I will see the little moments to be just as important as my business ones. Everything will fall into place at the right moment. Learn to grow in the waiting season.

What would you tell the old “You” before you had kids?

  • Don’t ever think you can’t do something just because the odds seem against you. It’s in the trials of life where you find your character and begin to see your purpose more clearly.

Funniest shortcut/routine for helping you through parenthood?

  • Try to make everything you can into some type of game. Kids can’t turn down a game of “Who can pick up the most Legos the fastest?!” Haha.
