Detective Days at Bayou Bend
Mystery is afoot at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, where children can unleash their inner sleuths to solve seasonal riddles using clues that teach about horticulture, art, design, and American history!
When you arrive, simply mention at the admissions desk that you’d like to participate in Detective Days.
This activity is free for children 18 and younger. Adult admission is $10.
Upon finishing their assignments, detectives return their clipboards to the pickup point to receive a personalized certificate of completion.
Do you have a group of 10 or more young detectives? Please contact us ahead of time so we’ll have plenty of supplies!

Free CPR Class at Elite Care Emergency (Rice Village)
Elite Care would like to invite you to one of our free CPR classes. Moms, Dads, Nannies, Babysitters, Lifeguards, Restaurant Staff, Teachers or concerned citizens – this class is for you.
Our instructors teach the American Heart Association Heartsaver Hands-Only CPR with AED Training for Infants, Children, and Adults. The class also covers the Heimlich maneuver for choking victims as well.
Class size is limited and fills up quickly.
Rice University Farmer's Market
Almost 30 vendors from around Texas come together weekly at the Rice University Farmers’ Market to supply residents with flavorful, fresh foods and help spread the word about healthy, sustainable eating. Additionally, four times a year the market hosts a large event featuring local breweries, chef demonstrations, and giveaways to bring together community members and highlight local favorites. It’s fun the whole family is sure to enjoy.

The first regular season event for Rice Athletics is when Rice soccer takes on Texas.
