Bring calm to the back-to-school crazy!
Back to school is always a time that highlights how organized (or unorganized) our lives and homes are. With the return of school comes the return of packing lunches, homework, after-school sport and activities, etc etc. All of which can be made so much less stressful and chaotic with some easy systems in place. We spoke with Kathleen and Lara of Purpose and Place Home Organizing for some insp:
Simple fixes can include things like making an area of your pantry or kitchen set up with everything you need to make packing lunches a breeze.
Finding the right system for the after-school/activities “throw down” of bags, clothes, shoes etc can also really help to bring calm to the chaos when everyone knows that everything has a place. Not everyone has the perfect pantry or mud room to make these things happen easily, but we can help you find a solution that works for YOUR family and makes the best use of YOUR space.
With the changing temperatures, Fall is also the perfect time to purge those closets, especially for your kids who have likely outgrown everything during the summer. After a purge is the best time to re-think your closets and make sure they are functioning the way that works best for each member of the family.
With the cooler temps, it is also a great time to clean out that garage and work on developing it into a space that is organized which starts the calm even before you walk in the door to the house!
Clear labeling and categorizing are key for kids finding things and then returning them to where they belong. For “do-it-your selfers”, an inexpensive label maker is a fun way to get your kids involved in the organizing process.
Instead of spending time trying to run around and find lost items and even having to go purchase duplicates, you can be spending more quality time with your kids because you all know where everything is.
