We sat down with Rochelle and caught up on all things Lagree fitness, her blog and living this fitness enthusiast’s best life.

What is your go-to for healthy food since you’ve been in Houston?
I love throwing dinners in a crock pot and not having to worry about it until it’s done 6 hours later. Cooking is the best way to know what you’re putting in your body. I love Central Market’s market meals too. When I don’t feel like cooking I grab two of these on my way home from class for my husband and I. As for restaurants I actually really enjoy the chicken kabob and brown rice from Cafe Lili on Westheimer. No fuss and good food.

What are some of your favorite local spots?
I have only lived in Houston for about 4 months but my weakness is Italian food. My husband is Italian too so I always just blame it on him lol. My current obsession right now is Coppa Osteria in Rice Village. Soooo good!

Favorite brands for workout gear?
When it comes to workout wear I don’t have a specific favorites but like to collect a bunch of different styles, fabrics, and brands. I am really loving Ultracor leggings and Lukka Lux Sports bras right now! Alo Yoga is also another favorite.

What motivates you? Personally, physically and professionally?
Personally, I always want to grow and learn. I get bored easily and I feel that growing as a person puts you in situations to experience different things. I try not to get comfortable but I also struggle with sometimes living in the moment. Although I am always trying to take the next step, sometimes it’s good to reflect on how many steps it took you to get to where you are at the present moment. Physically, I just love the way I feel after I get my butt kicked in class. I see my physical body changing as the result of hard work and dedication and it’s so motivating. Professionally, I feel that I only have one life to live so I shouldn’t waste it wishing for things more than I am willing to work for them. As long as I give it my 100% effort, I can never look back and wish that I did more.

How did your love for Lagree begin?
I originally thought pilates would be an easy way to get into working out. Boy, I was wrong. My first class kicked my butt so bad that I couldn’t sit down without bracing myself for a few days. Knowing now that Lagree is not your standard pilates class, I am so glad that I started this journey. Every class is just as hard as the last but as I find myself getting stronger, I find myself enjoying every shake and burn.

Favorite area of your body to work? (butt, abs, arms, etc)
My core. It was always my weakest area so I am always trying to improve it. The more definition in my stomach, the better. My least I would have to say outer thighs. I don’t know why but no matter how hard I try, that just never gets any easier lol.

How often do you take our class? Have you seen results/ any changes?
I take class 4 times a week when I am not traveling. My body has changed so much since I started Lagree in January! I have always been a skinny person but this is the first time I have ever had muscle or definition. Feeling strong is such a good feeling. I can’t stop talking about Lagree to my peers. Megaformer classes are honestly my favorite part of my day and on my days off, I feel off.

What’s your favorite songs of the moment?
Anything Cardi B at the moment. She kills me. I also looooove country music. It’s probably playing in my car 90% of the time…. mostly even more because it annoys my husband.

What are some of your hobbies / things you like to do on your free time?
Other than working on my fashion blog, I have to say reading novels. I have a book with me everywhere I go. Other hobbies include traveling and spending time with the hubs and our two yorkie’s Diesel and Belle. Oh and a trip to Target or HomeGoods never hurt anybody!
