One of my favorite ways of self-care has always been treating myself to a mani/pedi. As a kid, I would accompany my mom to the nail salon where the ladies were kind enough to either quickly paint my nails or they would let me play in one of the empty stations with bottles of nail polish and clear sparkles. Even when I was living on a shoestring budget after college, I would manage to scrounge up enough for a manicure. Nothing feels better than looking down at my manicured hand!
I was delighted to find a new nail salon open up on Kirby Dr. (in between Sunset Blvd and Rice Blvd), Sweet Moment Nail & Pedi Spa. I stumbled upon it accidentally at 6:30 pm on a Friday night, driving on Kirby and remembering my nails had been half bitten off and sloppily repainted earlier in the week. With only 30 minutes left until closing, I made a b-line into the parking lot… the staff was so kind to accommodate a powder-dip manicure and foot spa pedicure on such short notice. I was immediately impressed with their gorgeous interior and it’s spaciousness, with multiple back rooms for private parties and at least 10 full-chair foot spas with remote-controlled massage backs.
Dayna did an amazing job with my nails, I had an odd request of having multi-colored nails (I showed her a photo from a nail stylist in Los Angeles who had given me the inspiration) and she did it to perfection! I should also mention they scrubbed my legs with orange slices which was incredible. I actually decided to wait at least a week before assessing my manicure and writing this post – it has been 10 days and not one chip or flaw. I can’t say enough about how friendly, organized and professional the staff are, not to mention they also offer discounts and coupons to sweeten the deal. As a busy mom, worker, human… I appreciate businesses that are organized and efficient. I loved my experience here and can’t wait to go back although at this rate, will probably be another few weeks since my nails still look 100% intact. Welcome to the neighborhood!
