I have spent, well 5 years now, trying to figure out a cute way to display my son’s artwork and although I love the idea of doing it myself, I just don’t have the time or energy to be going to Michaels, picking up the material and sitting down to make one of these awesome displays. Sadly my son’s art is sitting in a disheveled pile on the bookcase just waiting to be hung!
Coincidentally, I got a call from Amy Mei, local Houston mom, graphic designer, and DIY Crafting workshop artist and teacher. Amy is holding a workshop on May 5th to help us moms (who need a little crafty boost) to create a tassel garland with painted wooden clips artwork display!

Getting to know Amy and MAMAMEIDIT: MAMAMEIDIT is a crafty workshop, focusing on practical DIYs for the home and on the go. My goal is to bring color and style to projects that will organize, repurpose, and simplify all things #momlife. It is a place for mama and her friends to get away for a few hours, connect, and be creative!
How did you start MAMAMEIDIT? I am a graphic designer and I started staying home when I had my son back in 2009. Then I had my daughter in 2015. The idea of MAMAMEIDIT has been on my heart as I envisioned something that would combine my love for motherhood, crafting, and girl time!
What was your inspiration? I love Pinterest and saving great ideas, but I understand that in reality, it can be hard to get to the craft store to gather all the materials, read the instructions, and then find time to sit down and actually do it!
What do we need to bring to a workshop? At a MAMAMEIDIT workshop, everything is prepared for you so all you have to do is show up! I will be there to guide you, and you will leave with a completed project! All while having FUN because crafting with friends is always better!
