Meet the Founder | Meet Sarah Seitz of The Enrichery | West University Moms

Meet Sarah Seitz, native Houstonian and owner of tutoring company The Enrichery. The Enrichery opened their doors in 2015, and have grown from a single, 200 square foot office, to three (soon four!) locations in the Houston area, including a West U office at 4500 Bissonnet.

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in Houston?

I am a native Houstonian! My grandmother lived in West U, and my parents raised me in the Memorial and later the Kingwood area.

Favorite local activities to do in Houston?

I am a triathlete, so I love going out to the hill country to ride my bike or hit up the run trails. I also love the food and performing arts scene in Houston! I enjoy checking out new local restaurants and then watching a show at the Hobby Center.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!

I am the founder of The Enrichery, an education company that offers academic coaching, executive functioning coaching, test preparation, and college admissions guidance. My love for coaching young people stems from my education at Vanderbilt University in the Peabody College of Education, and my years of teaching middle school and high school.

Since launching The Enrichery in 2015, we have been featured in several national publications, including US News & World Report, Teen Vogue, Business Insider, and Bloomberg.

The Enrichery is proud to serve three locations in the Houston area (Bellaire, Memorial, Energy Corridor), with a fourth one on the way in Cypress!

How has the Houston community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I owe everything to our amazing community here in Houston. Not only was I born and raised here, but our small business has grown almost exclusively through referrals. I have always been convinced that if we give our families an exceptional experience, we will be able to grow. So far, it has proved true!

What is the best advice for juggling life and running a business (or volunteering, working, etc)?

Well, I might be biased here since we actually created our own Student Study Skill Planner, but…Use a PAPER PLANNER!

Can you share a funny or unexpected story from your early days of starting this business?

Gosh. Almost everything was unexpected when we first started! Ha!

What’s the most memorable piece of feedback or review you’ve received from a customer or client?

“You guys are everywhere!”

When I ran into one of our parents three times over the course of a week at different school events, I was just so pleased to hear her acknowledge our love for the Houston community. For us, community events and support of local schools are not marketing techniques—they are part of our ethos.
