Bobby Wells understands busy moms. When I booked him recently to do my makeup, I was scatterbrained with a whining child in the background, I was getting the dates mixed up and told him that texting was easier. Getting my makeup done also felt like an extravagance that I should feel guilty about, surely there was something around the house that I could be cleaning or organizing. The past week had been filled with endless demands, a couple sleepless nights, countless unscheduled interruptions (and of course amazing moments)… but I reminded myself that to be a great mom, I must also feel great about myself and my life.
Gone are the days of leisurely scheduling a mid-day Saks makeover, perusing their makeup brands, chatting lip-gloss consistency with the sales clerks and stopping off for an afternoon latte. These days I am lucky to even keep a doctors appointment for myself, so I’ve come to my senses and am fully vested in the mobile-beauty experience! I might be staring at my outdated kitchen tiles, but I can get the makeup look from a professional without ever leaving my house. Que in Bobby Wells, with over 20 years of experience he is now making house calls for clients all over Houston.
Bobby’s love affair with makeup started at a young age and progressed studying theatrical, beauty and editorial makeup at USC. He worked on private clients, the Oscars, Golden Globes, and countless photoshoots in Los Angeles before taking an opportunity in New York City with a major cosmetic giant and working on fashion shows and television projects. In 2005, he was published in Los Angeles Magazines’ “Best of LA” issue. Soon after, he was quoted in various beauty columns of Glamour Magazine and recognized for his Makeup Tips in the book, HOW TO LOOK EXPENSIVE, by Andrea Pomerantz Lustig. Lucky for us, he switched up the hustle of the city for the friendly pace of Houston and is now working independently on private clients for special events and offering makeup lessons, eyebrow shaping, and personal shopping for beauty products.
With his professional beauty kit filled with luxurious products and his high-tech makeup lamp, he arrived to work his magic! With a few layers of primers and potions, Bobby erased years from my face.
