My Amazing Mommy Makeover by Jane C | West University Moms

I always said that I would age naturally like Bridget Bardot, I would not give in to societal pressures and I would wear my wrinkles like a map of my body. Granted, I was in my 20s, no kids yet and everything just stood where it was supposed to. Now after two beautiful girls and celebrating my 41st year on earth, I feel a little differently about my premature statement. Let’s just say I finally understand the gravity equation.

What’s a mom to do? I discussed with my husband, who didn’t seem to care either way, but something about hiding myself in the shower just didn’t settle right. Not to mention, I saw a resemblance to the mother animals on the Animal Planet channel.

I began my research. The most important thing to me was looking natural. I did not want the other moms in the pick-up line giving me the side-eye, nor did I want family members discussing my new additions at Thanksgiving dinner. This is when I found Dr. Vitenas. With 25 years of experience, he is touted as Houston’s most natural Plastic Surgeon – the before and after photos lived up to his nickname.

I scheduled my consultation and the wonderful journey began. A brief phone consultation with the patient coordinator, Martina Hairston, assured me that the doctor would deliver “natural results”. She quoted me the price over the phone which was astonishing, there’s nothing worse than going to a consultation and learning you can’t afford it. His office is glamorous, the inside is reminiscent of a French lounge, and Dr. Vitenas is one of the most meticulously dressed men in Houston.   The lower level of the building houses Mirror Mirror Boutique , a medical spa which offers everything from Coolsculpting, Fraxel  and skin treatments and products.  The whole experience was like a wondrous day at the spa. After meeting with the doctor and assessing my desires and concerns, I was on the calendar for my breast augmentation 4 weeks later.

The upcoming weeks were spent preparing and making sure I had help for the week of my surgery. The day of my surgery arrived, and I went to his built-in onsite hospital.   The surgery took about two hours and, before I knew it, my husband was driving me home. I was surprised by how little pain or discomfort I felt. The next morning, I went to breakfast with my family. The following week and a half was much easier than I had prepared myself for. I went to my follow-up appointments and everything was healing as it should.

Fast forward, it has been a year and I am a new woman. Not one family member noticed. I ended up telling my mother out of sheer excitement and she said she would have never guessed.  I still wear the same clothes I wore before, even the same bra. This has been one of the best decisions of my life, my confidence has skyrocketed and the best thing is that no one has to know!
