Here at Brazos Bookstore, we’ve got something for everyone in the family For the grownups we’ve got everything from great literary reads and the hottest bestsellers to over 250 events a year with guest authors ranging from Pulitzer Prize winners and celebrities, to local authors (we’re committed to #readlocal) and debut writers who might be the next big thing. For the kids and teens in the family, we’ve got our Kids’ Treehouse and YA Nook–an extensive but carefully curated selection of everything from board books and early chapter books to middle grade and graphic novels, young adult literature and a wide array of non-fiction, reference, and activity books.
Looking for a fun story time for the littles? Come join us every Saturday morning at 10:30 AM for one or two picture books, coloring, crafts, and snack–and a series of special holiday storytimes (with hot chocolate!) in December!

In fact, mark your calendars right now for Sunday, September 9, when we’ll be hosting a limited ticket, in-store event for the amazing Meg Cabot and her new spin off of everyone’s favorite–Princess Diaries!
We also have a regular series of family events. How about a Jane Austen Tea Party? Or a Moby Dick Party? Are you a fan of Where’s Waldo? Each July we partner with over twenty other local businesses for a crazy Where’s Waldo hunt with loads of prizes. We also partner with community mainstays such as Writer’s in the Schools and Inprint, among many others. And that’s just a teensy bit of what we do.

As Houston’s oldest independent bookstore, our sweet spot is working with our customers personally.
