Houston has been so welcoming! I literally have been on mom duty 24/7 and have only been able to get connected through social media outlets with other women. I have great appreciation for my Latina roots and was really excited after joining The Houston Latina Bloggers Group! It is filled with entrepreneurs, bloggers, and Latinas who support one another! Thru them I have been able to build my name as an illustration artist.
I was pretty isolated when I got here. I started creating little things here and there, and got introduced to the @htxbossbabes by my (soon-to-be) sister in law. This changed SO MUCH for me. I had no idea there were so many badass women out there running their own businesses, killing it every day!! Following them inspires me daily and motivates me to keep on growing my own brand.
Both of my businesses keep me connecting with the Houston community by vending at local events. The support of locals has been amazing and is what keeps pushing me when times get hard!
My favorite thing to do on the weekends is to spend a day at the beach with my family, playing with the kids, and teaching them about the importance of marine preservation and how we can do our part to keep our beaches and oceans clean.
I was born and raised in Houston and after living away for 13 years, I am so thrilled to be HOME. It has been amazing to share all of the local activities with our son Jack. After being away from Houston for so long, we have a long list of new places to explore!
I feel like I came into my own as a mom after we moved to West U 5 years ago! Largely because of my tribe, my village, my mom-friends. They encourage me, they allow me to be myself and we are 100% there for each other. Add in the amazing schools that my kids go to with teachers who genuinely love and care for my little ones (WUES & St Paul’s School) and I feel like I am able to be a full-time mom and a full-time photographer all at once.
