Meet Brooke Andrews, M.A. CCC-SLP – Speech-Language Pathologist and Director of The Speech Dynamic | West University Moms

Brooke Andrews, M.A CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Director of The Speech Dynamic, a boutique speech therapy practice.  Brooke is the co-creator of “Wiggle Time,” a preschool curriculum for children with language and developmental delays.  She has trained at the Social Thinking™ clinic in Boston, MA to bring social skills groups to the Houston area. Her specialty areas include language development, play-based learning, and social communication. Brooke presents at various conferences on these topics.  She is currently pursuing her Board Certification as a Child Language Specialist through the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Brooke is a Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor and infuses elements of movement and mindfulness into her sessions.  She also authors a blog for parents with tips on encouraging language and social skills.

The Speech Dynamic specializes in social communication and language development.  They provide comprehensive assessment and treatment of speech, language, and literacy skills. They are also uniquely qualified to assess more complex areas such as social skills, play skills, and executive functioning skills. Therapy is offered in the child’s natural setting (home or school) and through a variety of play and social groups held at their learning center.

The Speech Dynamic offers classes for early learners that support social skills, language, and literacy development.  Preschool Play Groups are for children 3-5 and support typically developing children with language and social skills.  Other classes include “Talk and Play” for toddlers with language delays and “Jump Start Groups” for preschoolers learning school readiness skills.  This February, TSD is launching a unique class specifically for young children with autism. The class will be led by a Speech-Language Pathologist and Special Education Preschool Teacher.  Brooke has specialized training in working with children that are “late talkers” and their families as well as young children with autism.

Social Thinking™ groups are offered for children in preschool through high school with social learning challenges.  In the SocialThinking™ program, children learn how to “think about their thinking” to become better social communicators. For students who struggle planning and organizing, cutting edge strategies are taught in Executive Functioning Groups.  LEGO-based™ groups are offered for students working on social communication in a fun and motivating way!

Brooke is passionate about helping children with communication and social challenges. She is incredibly excited to bring social learning programs to the community! The Speech Dynamic is located at 2134 and currently serves families in their homes West University and the surrounding areas.
